Feminine Leadership Myths:
The Importance of Embracing Both Masculine and Feminine Energy in Embodied Leadership
As an embodiment leader, I work in and around the feminine leadership space, supporting women to deepen into their bodies, hearts, and wombs to arrive at a felt sense of wholeness and create from a place of groundedness, ease, and flow.
There is a powerful movement of energy, rising, opening awakening in women. We are at a very different place in time from our history. The world consciousness evolution is happening and there is such a beautiful, but focused emphasis on the feminine aspects of the self within business and leadership. While there is a powerful movement of feminine energy rising in women, it's important to recognise that any separation of different parts of ourselves pulls us out of existence in our wholeness.
It's an illusion that we can create from the feminine only.
The Feminine is energy. It is emotion. It is feeling and expression. It is divine aspects of ourselves when in creation.
Yet SHE can not exist in her fullness and power without a sense of holding, containment, and structure - which we call The Masculine.
In the realm of feminine leadership, the aspect that often loses its seat at the table is the masculine polarity.
The masculine is clear and anchored in clarity. The Masculine is structured. The masculine moves into action from alignment. He is clear, he is directing, and he is focused. He guides the direction of energy into action that is most aligned in every moment.
The feminine and the masculine are two opposing energies that, when brought together, create a unified wholeness. It's an illusion that we can create from the feminine only.
While the feminine is a strong thread in this realm of creation, coaching, therapy, healing, and business, the masculine aspects are just as important.
For me, on my journey, the truer description of this energy that I'm speaking into is embodied leadership.
Embodied leadership requires the multifaceted, multi-dimensional humanness of individuals.
Leadership requires many different aspects of ourselves, and we all have both feminine and masculine energy within us.
The masculine aspect of us gets things done, drives forward action, takes the lead, and makes decisions.
It's a vital skill to nurture and grow within ourselves if we want to evolve as an embodied leader.
Embodied leadership requires many different aspects of us, and I often feel like it is that aspect that gets missed out on the conversation! It's a really important piece.
The narrative of feminine leadership can weave a false story and limitations on the desired outcome that we want to achieve in the world.
From the conversations, I've had with many women, and my own journey of unraveling within this is a felt sense that everything can be created and achieved through the feminine energy only. In turn, there is a dismissal or denial or rejection of the masculine aspects of the self which leads us deeper into separation.
While we need flow, surrender, and trust, we also need the masculine aspects of ourselves to balance the feminine.
We need to embrace both our inner feminine and masculine to be well-rounded, grounded, rooted, open, sensitive, and an empathetic embodied leader.
We can see here that in this realm of this polarised energy of the masculine or feminine, both of these aspects are needed, within thought leadership.
Leadership lives in all areas of our lives, from how we navigate personal challenges to how we interact with our communities, families, and friends. Whether we're working with colleagues, or clients, or co-creating with others, leadership is an integral part of our lives.
Dismissing certain areas of leadership as less valuable or important does a disservice to our overall growth and evolution. Instead, we can find a state of harmony and balance. The sacred dance of transitioning and weaving between all aspects of our lives, recognising the value and importance of each.
We can find ourselves living in one extreme swing of the pendulum, or one extreme vision, side, or expression of the polarity. But when we're better able to hold the two opposing or the multi-dimensional ones that coexist in the center, we are better able to relate and understand and connect with other people.
In turn, we're better able to show up in life from a fuller, rounded, grounded embodied place within ourselves. We can dance that sweet dance between structure and flow, masculine and feminine, action and surrender.
There's a really beautiful whirlpool of everything that exists there where we get to choose moment to moment, what is needed, why it's needed, how it's needed.
More specifically, in that space of leadership, that balanced space of being able to hold a sense of structure, boundary, and solidity whilst remaining soft, open and empathetic is the golden space to be in.
When we can access that sense of the structure of certainty of solidity, and boundary within ourselves, those around us feel safe. We are to access our heart, softness, and gentleness. We can offer empathy and compassion and understanding, whilst remaining solid and held and rooted.
There is this felt sense of connection, intimacy, understanding, and safety for your clients, the people that you work with your community, your audience, and so on.
The myths of feminine leadership, cannot exist solely in the feminine, it requires us to arrive deeper into our own wholeness. It allows us to hold a space of wholeness for the people whom we are in business with. We're in creation, whether in relation to the people that are in your audience, your community, or the spaces that offer, the services that you create for them.
It is so important to recognise that both energies are equally important in creating a unified, whole self.
